[travel news] 5 sites for finding cheap flights

We looked at five travel sites that claim to be able to help you find the cheapest flights. As a sample we checked roundtrip flights from Seattle to Boston (RT); Thurs. July 23rd to Mon. the 27th:

Dohop.com- Easy to navigate and looks great, but they use military time which can be confusing. $175

Mobissimo.com- Easy to navigate, but cluttered and ugly with too many ads on the site and pop-ups. $359

Kayak.com- Easy to navigate and a clean, simple look. $360

Sidestep.com- Seems to be a brother site to Kayak with a similar set-up and the same results. $360

Cfares- We didn't want to spend the fifty dollar fee to join their exclusive site.

So why did Dohop get us such a good deal? More than likely, we just happened to be on that site at the right time before someone snatched it up. Any of these sites were close enough in their results that searching for a couple days, throughout the day, may get you a significantly cheaper flight no matter which one you use.
